What if have an emergency after hours or on a weekend?
You can call 610-874-8451 and your call will be handled by our answering service.

I am in need of emergency shelter.  What is the first step? 
To apply for emergency housing, you will need to visit our Boothwyn Office located at 1414 Meetinghouse Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061 between the hours of 9:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday through Friday.  No appointment is necessary but it is best to call first so that you have any necessary documentation with you.  The number to the Boothwyn Office is 610-874-8451.

How do I apply for rental assistance, utility assistance or any other service that CAADC offers? 
All applications for assistance programs are distributed at our Boothwyn Office located at 1414 Meetinghouse Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061It is advised that you call this office before coming in to fill out an application as you will need to bring several types of documentation in order to complete the application process.

What do I need to bring with me when I come to the intake office to apply for assistance or programs?

To start the Utility Assistance application process, you will need to bring:

  • Social Security Cards for all individuals in household
  • Picture ID
  • Shut off notice
  • Proof of income (pay stubs, SSI/SSD award letter, welfare award letter)

To start the Rental Assistance application process, you will need to bring:

  • Social Security Cards for all individuals living in household
  • Picture ID
  • Eviction Notice (if applicable)
  • Proof of income (pay stubs, SSI/SSD award letter, welfare award letter)

To start the Food Stamp application process, you will need to bring:

  • Social Security Cards for all individuals living in household
  • Picture ID
  • Proof of income (pay stubs, SSI/SSD award letter, welfare award letter)

How do I know if I qualify for assistance?
After reviewing your application and all back-up documentation, you will be notified of whether you are eligible to receive assistance.  The process may take 2-3 weeks, depending on the type of assistance for which you applied. 

How do I obtain an application for Weatherization assistance?  What are the income guidelines?
To have an application mailed to your home, call 610-521-8770. 

My family is in need of furniture from the Donations Warehouse.  Are we eligible?
Only clients exiting CAADC’s shelter program or who are referred to our agency with special circumstances are eligible to utilize our donations warehouse.  If you have special circumstances, you may contact the Boothwyn Office at 610-874-8451.

What are your hours of operation?
Our regular hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM

I recently spotted a truck with “Delaware County Construction Company” on the side.  Do you do private repairs and commercial projects? 
The Delaware County Construction Company is a division of Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. Is your day care center open to the public?  How do I get more information about it? 
Yes. Our Kidz First Childcare Center, located at 723 Madison Street, Chester, is open to the public.  Please call 610-490-1700 for more information. 


Who do I contact if I have something to donate to the Donations Warehouse? 
Please call 610-522-9611 and leave a detailed message regarding what you would like to donate along with your name, address, and phone number.  We only accept furniture and household goods which are in very good condition.
